Frequently asked questions about Blue Card
The most common questions concern the conditions for receiving Blue Card, the required employment contract, the minimum salary, the change of employer and the possibility of obtaining permanent residence in the future.

What conditions do you have to meet to receive Blue Card?
You must meet the current requirements for a temporary residence permit for highly qualified employment. These include appropriate qualifications, an employment contract or a binding job offer for at least the required period, and a salary no lower than the current threshold. Since 2025, the minimum contract period is generally six months.
What must be the salary amount for Blue Card in Poland?
The salary must be at least 150% of the average salary in the national economy in the year preceding the application. The exact threshold changes each year, so we verify it when preparing the case.
Does Blue Card allow you to change your employer?
A change of employer or conditions of employment may entail an obligation to notify the voivodes or any other activity which depends on the content of the permit and the current provisions. Before changing, you need to check the specific decision, the deadline and new working conditions.
How long is the Blue Card application pending?
Time depends on the completeness of documents, voivod activities and circumstances of the case. We do not specify the guaranteed deadline; before submitting, we explain the stages and factors that may affect the time of proceedings.
What documents are needed for Blue Card?
The scope includes documents concerning identity, employment, remuneration, qualifications and insurance and other situation-dependent annexes. The list must be established on the basis of the current requirements and data of the employer.
